Bailey Bridge

This photo was likely taken in Tuscan North Apennines, at the end or 1944, or early 1945.  A US Army vehicle, passing over a Bailey Bridge assembled by US Engineers over a creek as a replacement of the original bridge destroyed by retreating Germans troops.  The road became an important link between US troops and the Brazilian Expeditionary Force.
