RAF mechanics are checking one of the engines of an Armstrong Whitworth AW38 "Whitley" Mk.V medium bomber as her crew looks on. The Whitley was one of the lesser known bombers of WW2. Note the yellow bombs painted on her side indicating the number of successful bombing missions. Probably 1943, undisclosed location in England.
